How To Improve The Appearance of Your Skin

If you're on the prowl for a new skincare treatment, you've certainly heard of microneedling. Also known as collagen induction therapy, microneedling is a non-surgical procedure, which typically uses a handheld device to puncture the skin and promote collagen production to reduce signs of aging. But many people are unaware of all the benefits of microneedling, especially when it comes to reducing acne scars, stretch marks, and hyperpigmentation. A clearer complexion isn't just something you'll see — you'll feel good about the way you look, too!

What is Microneedling?

Collagen Induction Therapy, or microneedling, is a new approach to treating fine lines and acne scars, as well as overall skin appearance.

Microneedling uses tiny needles to create controlled micro injuries in the dermis of the skin—The body repairs these injuries by producing collagen and elastin—which thickens and strengthens aged skin. Micro-needling creates microchannels in the skin, which allow topical gels and creams to be absorbed more effectively.

 WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

Micro-needling is a treatment that has a lot of benefits. It can help with:

  • reducing the appearance of scars, including acne scars
  • reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • reducing enlarged pores
  • reducing the appearance of hyperpigmentation, or dark spots
  • smoothing uneven skin tone
  • improving skin elasticity
  • reducing the appearance of stretch marks
  • reducing the appearance of scars
  • promoting hair growth

You're probably wondering "how many treatments will I need?"

That's a great question! It is recommended for most clients to receive a series of 6 treatments. For clients with deep wrinkles, advanced photo-aging, stretch marks or acne scars, it is recommended to receive 6-8 sessions. The number of treatments required depends on many factors including the severity of your skin concerns and your skin type (dry vs oily). There are also some patients who may require more than one treatment before seeing results.

How many weeks apart?

We recommend a series of six microneedling treatments for best results. With sessions spaced one week apart.

So there you have it! There's a lot to think about when you're considering Microneedling treatments, but we hope this helps you sort through some of the basics.
