Botox, Dysport, or Xeomin: What's the Difference?

We all have to grow old—but that doesn't mean we have to look it.

Botox is one of the most popular cosmetic treatments available today, and for good reason: it's a quick and easy way to get rid of wrinkles, fine lines, and other signs of aging.

Did you know Botox is a brand name?

Botulinum toxin type A "aka" Botox, is an injectable form of the toxin. Did you know Botox is a brand name like kleenex is for tissue. While Botox is the most popular brand name, there are other brand names of botulinum toxin type A, including Dysport and Xeomin. Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are all injectable forms of botulinum toxin type A. They are all effective in reducing wrinkles and frown lines, but they are not the same. Each brand name has its own set of advantages and disadvantages

But What's the difference?

The main difference between Xeomin and Botox is that Xeomin contains a “naked” form of botulinum toxin, meaning that it doesn’t contain any accessory proteins. This means that Xeomin is less likely to cause allergic reactions and desensitization over time. This difference is important because the lack of additives in Xeomin may help prevent antibody resistance, a growing problem that has been seen with botulinum toxin injections administered over time.

Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are all great products that give the refreshed look you want. Many of the differences between them come down to personal choice. If you are concerned about the development of antibody resistance with long-term use, Xeomin may be a good option which is the injectable we use at Cloud9.
